We had a super time. Weatherman forecasted rain but we only had a light mist
from time to time until 7 PM when we were about to leave anyway. the temperature must have been in the low 70's--very comfortable. We had about 80 people. Two couples who had paid never came but then 3 classmates came without a reservation.Cary Rush did a great job doing name badges sporting the high school picture
of each classmate. he donated his time and materials. Made recognizing people a lot easier.Marlene Martin must be commended for compiling 50 trivia questions on events
in 1953 and she had sheets printed and almost blew the motor on her electric pencil sharpener, honing 48 pencils. Lots of groans when we started the quiz consisting all kinds of topics movies, music, science, politics, medicine, media but everyone enjoyed joking around once we got started.We had "joke" prizes and of course, we gave out those nice pens that Bob
Friedenberg sent all the way from California.Ray (Carl) Schaeffer was up from his new home in South Carolina. He had been
in charge of the balloons for the 40th reunion. Luckily the woman he had sold his florist business to--still had about 50 gold balloons with "Class of 1953" printed in black. He filled them all ( eight years old and still usable) with helium and helped decorate the tables. We owe him a big thank-you.Ted Etling brought a 1930 gold antique car and had it on display. Many
people had their picture taken next to it. It was generous of him and fun.We not only took snapshots of people in general but we had group pictures of
Lincoln classmates who also attended elementary schools together Fox Chase, Crossan and Forrest.
